It Doesn’t Matter Where

Posted in Uncategorized  by Jay McGrath

When you are playing a round of golf, location should not have an effect on your round.  Whether you are in Florida, Georgia, New York, or Ohio, things like the consistency of your swing should not be changed because of the different climate or geography of the region.  Of course, you may have to change your strategy for wind or how the ball carries, but if you start changing the fundamentals of your swing, then you will suffer in the long run.  This can be seen in golf tournaments like the Masters.  Obviously every player does not play in the conditions that the Masters might provide them, but they do not change the fundamentals of their swing to perform.

Instead they adapt.  Being able to adapt is something that is key in any round of golf.  In order to successfully adapt, however, you need to practice your swing so that you are comfortable enough with it to be able to make proper adaptations.  By using a useful golf training aid like an outdoor range mat, your swing will be able to gain the consistency that is key to any round, anywhere.  Becoming a successful golfer largely revolves around how well you can make these adaptations, so you will find these types of practice mats essential.
